Effective January 1, 2000, the newly established OKER-CHEMIE GMBH took over the entire business operations of CHEMISCHE FABRIKEN OKER UND BRAUNSCHWEIG AG ("OBRA" - founded 1871) by means of a management-buy- out of the former OBRA managers Bernd-Dieter Kind and Detlef Kühling. 

Centre of the activities of OKER-CHEMIE GMBH is a wide range of desiccants for various applications (dehumidification of air and other gas). 

The company is also a leading supplier of Potash Alum.
