WACKER BIOSOLUTIONS’ biotech activites focus on the production and marketing of new bio-technological products developed by WACKER's basic research. The first activities in this line are products based on cyclodextrins and the amino acid cysteine.

With Application Laboratories, located in Adrian, MI USA and Burghausen, Germany, we can help you use cyclodextrins to develop new or improved products.
WACKER's cysteine products are produced using a novel fermentation process. The process is based on a bacterial strain which has been 'metabolically designed' to synthesize L-Cysteine from dextrose and is the only process to use renewable resources of non-human or non-animal origin.
The acquisition of Scil Proteins Production GmbH in 2014 has doubled the development and manufacturing capacities of Wacker Biotech and has added valuable expertise in the refolding of insoluble proteins. As a result, WACKER has not only become more flexible but also expanded the service offer thus creating a strong and highly competitive microbial CMO. WACKER’s services cover molecular biology, process and analytical development, and the GMP manufacturing of biologics for clinical trials and commercial supply.
WACKER BIOSOLUTIONS produces also organic fine chemicals and organosilanes at our Burghausen plant in Germany. The products offered include acetylaceton, chlorinated acetyls and organosilane protective groups.
